Beach vs medical care in central valley

Having read a lot of the messages I get that the medical care is quite good in CR but centralized near San Jose region.

I'm in good health now but nearing retirement I want to be close to major medical. I assume I'll need the average medical that seniors need. Perhaps dialysis, or cataract surgery, new knees or whatever.

Two part question. Other than clinics, are there any hospitals near the pacific beaches? Second, if I live on the beach, what is the drive time to a hospital in San Jose region?

Planning to come down soon so I need to optimize my trip time.
