Has anyone used a media streaming device with their TV in Costa Rica, such as “Roku”? This would be easier for us to use vs having to connect our laptop to the TV to stream Netflix, Amazon streamed content, etc. However, when I contacted Roku today they said that many content providers restrict what countries can receive streaming and thus, they cannot guarantee the amount of content (“channels”) that we would receive. (I am surprised that they cannot request this info from the content providers to give to prospective customers.)
Thus, I am wondering if anyone is currently using one of these devices and can provide a summary of some of the content that they can get. We currently directly stream Netflix (limited movie content) and Amazon streamed content (TV series) – I would think these would be available via Roku as well, if we can get them otherwise, but I don’t want to invest the money if the content is too limited.
