Puriscal versus San Ramon

Hello! We took a 3 day George Lundquist tour last May, which was excellent, then explored on our own for almost 2 weeks. The scorecards provided by George were very helpful in comparing each town. Puriscal and San Ramon were absolutely evenly scored, except for the fact that San Ramon has such a tight-knot organized expat community. However, as far as housing, buiding, & costs of lots, Puriscal seems much more reasonable. What are everyone elses experiences? We need to be where animal rescue and spay/neuter programs are available nearby for us to help.
