I'm currently researching the possibility of opening a B&B/hostel (undecided about which yet but leaning toward hostel) in Costa Rica. The 3 places I'm interested in are Tamarindo, Jaco, and Puerto Viejo de Talamanca I'd love to get some information from insiders there before I come in a few weeks to research on the ground.
- What is the availability of large homes for rent? I'm looking to rent, not buy a location. Need a large home 5+ bedrooms. Any experience in any of the 3 cities? Does not have to be in the city, surrounding area is ok too/maybe preferred. This is the main thing and most important.
- What is the availability of stores nearby? Hardward stores, supermarkets, ect
- What is the availability of workers? Everything from construction/remodelers to cleaners and english-speaking managers
- Why are there so few hostels in these 3 very popular places? In San Juan del Surf of Nicaragua you have 40+ hostels, none of these places have nearly that amount.
Anyother tips/info would be greatly appreciated!
