moving to CR from France

We are an American couple and have just bought a house in Nuevo Arenal. Our plan is to move in the spring of 2020. We're struggling a bit to find information about moving from France to Costa Rica and are hoping there might be a few expats in CR who moved from Europe (France if we are fortunate). We have some questions about relocation, obtaining documentation from France (police report for criminal history), moving pets (dogs and cats) and possibly transporting our car (understand all the tax issues in CR, but am wondering more about car conversion requirements). Thanks in advance for any assistance.
