Finding the best location to live for a family with kids in an international school

Where would you recommend that we live? We like the outdoors, dislike traffic (yeah, I know traffic is bad in Costa Rica...). We would love access to trails, nature, mountain biking, access to local produce markets a good international school for the kids.
Also, where does one look to find a place to rent, fully or partially furnished?
Any other random advice are also appreciated!
