Considering Costa Rica

I've only visited Costa Rica once, for about 10 days, and we stayed in the far north (Pacific side) part of the country (Guanacaste/Papagaya area).

We traveled around the local area, zip-lined, visited a couple of quaint towns but we realize there is MUCH, MUCH more to Costa Rica than the "sliver" we saw.

I'd be interested in learning about expats living in different areas of Costa Rica. We're pretty much an open book and any feedback, perspectives, do's-don'ts, etc. are more than welcome.
