Cuenca rental cost update

Just a brief update on our search for a decent rental in Cuenca. We found a nice 4 bedroom house in a nice and safe neighborhood for under $280 per month. The house is secure from possible intruders. Oh and guess what??...it's not under a broken bridge!

So, stay away from brokers, they like to round their rent numbers up to the nearest $100 or $200 at your expense. Anyways, we walked a neighborhood we liked with someone who was bi-lingual. The place we found was not advertised, we found out by asking a local about rentals in the area. We then went over and knocked on the gate to a small "compound" of 4 homes. A lady came out and gave us the phone number of the owner. It would be good to hire one of those "new resident services" to help you find a good rental.
