Why am I moving to Ecuador

I began my search for a different way of life over two years ago and I looked first at spots in Europe; France--my mother was French, Spain, been there several time and liked it. Then I began looking closer to home. I have been in Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Aruba, Dominica and most of the Caribbean islands and Panama--some more than once. Then I began hearing good things about Ecuador and have made 3 visits to see for myself.

My reasons are somewhat economical but mostly s desire for lifestyle and culture change. I am fed up with the US and most what it stands for. Currently my living costs are over $40,000, which does not include entertainment, travel etc. Broken down: auto expense; $6,250,
Ultilities; $5,700, home expenses including taxes $24,800, health insurance--Medicare+supplement- $3,950

For about half of that, I can live like a king in Ecuador and travel do other things. In Cuenca, I won't need a car and I can rent a beautiful condo for a fraction of my existing home expenses. And being over 65, the already low taxes and utilities are cut by 50%

Any questions??
