corona virus. Paro

Hey you all,
What's going on. None of you alarmist are posting about the corona virus or more paro's in Ecuador. Are you all hunkering down for the end of the world in Ecuador or what. No one is posting about running back to Houston because of the civil unrest or escaping to the US to live through the corona virus. What's happening. Just lat Oct the end of our existence in Ecuador was in question because this was way worse than ever before. And of course, you gringo's with special insight were feeling that there was something happening that had never happened before.
Instead, it was just business as usual in Latin America. Now, we have a virus. You all must feel that it will wipe out the country and you must flee.
Where all all you know it all's now. You must need to get on the plane and save your selves.
Certainly with the worlds economy going crazy, you should all leave.

Hey Ruemy, I see you havent lost your edge.........but please tell us all what this means, so we can get your entire message, "Where all all you know it all's now. "?And now we must consider if this is a repeat of the Spanish Flu which swept the globe like wildfire killing between 20 and 60 million (becuz the doofuses can never get their numbers straight.......or if its just another carefully engineered and orchestrated globalist control measure like 9/11. Now that Tom Hanks and his wife admit to having contracted the virus Im really leaning to the side that all the major players AND actors are in on it........And if you think the Patriot Acts I and II and the NRDA were something then you aint seen nuttin yet......buckle up, cuz whether the virus is the real deal or not, chits hittin the fan in a very big way........Not a real smart idea to be in denial about that..........

I wouldn't want to take the OP as merely trolling......but I would want whomever else responds to at least be semi-cogent.

The question seems to be, Whats Happening? After all the initial drama everything is back to normal, right?

Read into things a bit deeper, and Think things through. The other shoe has yet to drop for all of us. If you're disciplined and lucky, you should be able to avoid infection for some time; if infected, young and healthy people have very good odds of getting through it with no great distress. For the relatively old and/or infirm....well......

As to the question. I notice Turkey has only one confirmed case. This is because the govt controls any testing which is done and it is in denial. Turkey also has no gay people, so there you go. The US is a bit better, but not by much.

In any country, for every one case diagnosed there are X more spreading the Bug under the radar, assuming the radar is turned on, that anyone is watching the radar, and that the govt doesn't squelch reports when blips do appear.

Those 14 cases in Guayaquil all derived from that one woman who came in from Madrid. There are doubtlessly dozens of others who have slipped through that are now obliviously smothering these friends and neighbors with hugs and kisses. It will, however, take a bit of time for the Bug to multiple, even exponentially, to the point the ERs start backing up.

Give it time. This isn't a TV show or Movie: it will move at its own pace, but move it will.

President of Ecuador has said that any air passengers arriving from Spain and several other EU Countries must self-quarantine in their own homes for 14 days.
Trump has said he's stopping all air travel from the EU to the US for the next 30 days.
Italy has closed all of its businesses and stores except for Pharmacies.
Travel restrictions are getting worse by the minute.

Kmarch,
Do you think Ecuador or the USA will stop travel between the two countries and trap those that want to leave?

God I hope not!

My wife and I are toying with the idea of flying from GYE to BDL ( Hartford, Ct. ) at the end of April for a couple of weeks.

I'm waiting for the airfares to inevitably drop because of the situation but am also closely monitoring what our respective governments are doing ( and not doing ) to address the pandemic.

Windshadow -
There are more inter-country travel restrictions happening every day.
It is quite possible that as the numbers go up that travel could be restricted between the USA and EC.
