USA Visitor Visa for Egyptian man

Ciao,

I have an Egyptian gentleman that I am talking to at the moment. We met back in July while I was living overseas. He's recently been talking about a visitor visa and that it'd be good for 6 months or something like that. When I go back in April, he wants to then apply for the visa on his behalf (with him paying for it). Good sign right? Do I need to furnish proof of where I live at for his stay or is just good with him applying and HIM paying for it? Anything required on my behalf?
