Working in Greece

Hello!

I am an American (non-Greek) planning to move to Greece in August 2005 and am beginning to contemplate the work permit application process. I plan to conduct language services: teaching, translation, editing, etc. I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with getting a work permit for self-employment. Is this an option? Would I qualify given the type of work that I intend to do? If I cannot obtain a permit for self-employment I have an employer who is willing to hire me. If anyone could provide advice as to which route would be preferable and/or make it more likely that I would be afforded the permit I would appreciate it.
