Belgian television seeking foreigners

Hello,

My name is Arianne and I work for the Belgian television. Right now, we’re working on a new item for our daily show called Man Bites Dog. The idea is based on foreign correspondents. We’d like to create a sort of international panel of all kinds of people worldwide who’d answer the same questions through a webcam. The questions will be derived from national or international news items, asking for personal experiences or opinions. For example: With the current economic crisis, having your money on the stock markets today, might not have been a good investment. What is your worst purchase ever and why. Currently we are creating a website on which we will post a new question regularly, with the possibility to record your answer with a webcam. In the meantime however, we’re working with a YouTube account.

Would you be interested in testing this out for us? It only takes a couple of minutes. The result wouldn't be broadcasted. You can answer the questions yourself, but do feel free to answer them together with (a) family member(s), the questions are on the bottom of this mail, how to do that is explained as well.

You can always contact me by e-mail for further information: [email protected].

Thank you very much in advance!

Kind regards,

Arianne Van Roy

To film your answer (you can find the questions below), please follow these instructions:

· Answer the question alone or, even better, with your partner or other members of the family, living with you.

· Sit in front of the camera, as close as possible. Try to look straight into the camera.

· Take your time to answer, don’t worry for blanks or hesitations, we are still going to edit.

· Try to avoid background noise. (Close the windows, turn off the radio,…)

· Start filming from the moment you’re getting installed (taking place on the chair, adjusting the position of the webcam, …), even before you start reading the questions, looking for the best position to talk to the webcam is interesting for the editing.

___________________The Questions_____________________

Here are three questions for this test. Please try to make three different movies, one for each question. Take your time (don’t worry if your answer takes ten minutes, because you have an interesting story or because you needed to go and look for something to show to the camera)! Better too long, than too short… If you want you can first check the videos made by two colleagues that can serve as an example (You can find them under “My videos and playlists” once you have signed in on YouTube).

Question 1 (Q1)

Romelu Lukaku, one of Belgium’s best football players, always dreamt of playing for Chelsea. Today his childhood dream comes true with his transfer from RSC Anderlecht to Chelsea FC.

- Do you know Romelu Lukaku?

- What were/are your dreams as a child?

- Did they come true?

Question 2 (Q2)

With the current economic crisis, having your money on the stock markets today, might not have been a good investment.

- Is the economic crisis noticeable in your country?

- What is your worst purchase ever and why? (please show it, if you still have it)

Question 3 (Q3)

On the first of September, the Belgian youth will be heading back to school after two months of vacation.

- Does school also begin on the first of September in your country?

- Can you remember what it was like?

Thanks a lot and I will keep you informed on the results of this test!
