The official language is Latvian, but many people also speak Russian. The currency is the Euro. Latvia is a member of the European Union and the Schengen Area, so EU citizens can move and work freely in the country. Healthcare is provided by the state and is free for all residents. The cost of living in Latvia is relatively low compared to other European countries. It is important to research the local laws and regulations before moving to Latvia," replied a member in Latvia.
