Summary: What is it like to retire in Polis, Cyprus? Retirees share their experiences living in Polis.

What is it like to retire in Polis?

"Life for a retiree in Polis is typically peaceful and relaxed, with a slow pace of life that many find appealing. The town is small and quiet, but it has a lot to offer in terms of natural beauty and cultural attractions. The surrounding area is known for its stunning beaches, lush orchards, and scenic hiking trails, making it a great place for outdoor enthusiasts. There is a small but active expat community in Polis, with many retirees from the UK and other European countries choosing to settle there. The locals are generally friendly and welcoming, and English is widely spoken, making it easy for expats to integrate and make new friends. Cultural attractions in and around Polis include the ancient city of Marion, the Baths of Aphrodite, and the Akamas Peninsula, a nature reserve that is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The town itself has a charming old center with traditional Cypriot architecture, as well as a number of small museums and art galleries. Recreational activities in Polis are largely centered around the outdoors. The area is popular for hiking, cycling, and bird watching, and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea offer excellent conditions for swimming, snorkeling, and sailing. There are also several golf courses in the vicinity. Nightlife in Polis is low-key compared to larger cities like Paphos or Limassol, but there are still plenty of options for a fun night out. The town has a good selection of restaurants, tavernas, and bars, many of which offer live music or traditional Cypriot entertainment. There are also a few nightclubs for those who enjoy dancing. Overall, Polis offers a tranquil and fulfilling lifestyle for retirees, with a good balance of leisure activities, cultural attractions, and social opportunities," remarked one retiree in Polis.

"When we first came to Cyprus we lived in PAPHOS. A very busy City with many cafes, restaurants, night clubs and bars. A huge ex-pat community. Lots of sporting activity," said a retiree who moved to Poli Chrystopiou, Cyprus.
