What advice do overseas retirees have for others considering retiring abroad?

"Retirees in Polis often advise others considering retiring abroad to thoroughly research the cost of living in their chosen destination, as it can vary greatly from their home country. They also suggest learning about the healthcare system and ensuring that they will have access to the medical services they may need. It's also important to understand the tax implications of retiring abroad. They recommend visiting the location multiple times before making a decision, to get a feel for the culture, climate, and lifestyle. Learning the local language, even just the basics, can greatly enhance the experience and make daily life easier. The process of obtaining residency can be complex and time-consuming. It involves a lot of paperwork and may require the assistance of a lawyer. 5. The pace of life in Polis is slower than in many other places. While this can be a positive aspect for some, others may find it frustrating or boring. 6. The climate can be challenging for some. Summers in Cyprus can be very hot, which may not be comfortable for everyone. 7. Finally, being far from family and friends can be difficult. While technology makes it easier to stay in touch, the physical distance can still be a challenge," explained a retiree in Polis.
