There is a significant expat community in Hong Kong, although it may not be as concentrated in Tai Po as in other areas like Central or Discovery Bay. However, the expat community in Hong Kong is generally active and welcoming, with various social groups and activities that retirees can join. Culturally, Tai Po is rich with attractions. The district is home to several museums, including the Hong Kong Railway Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of Education. The Lam Tsuen Wishing Trees, a popular local tradition, is also located in Tai Po. The district is also known for its markets, such as the Tai Po Market, where retirees can explore local food and crafts. For recreation, Tai Po offers numerous parks and outdoor spaces. The Tai Po Waterfront Park is a popular spot, featuring a lookout tower, cycling paths, and gardens. The Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve is also a great place for hiking and bird watching.
