"The cost of living in Koh Phangan, is relatively affordable compared to many Western countries. Accommodation can be found at various price points, with budget options like simple bungalows or guesthouses available for a low cost, while more luxurious villas or resorts can be more expensive. Eating out at local restaurants or street food stalls is generally inexpensive, with a wide variety of delicious Thai dishes available at low prices. Western food options can be pricier but are still affordable compared to Western standards. Transportation on the island is also reasonably priced, with motorbike rentals being a popular and cost-effective way to get around. Taxis and shared taxis, known as songthaews, are also available at reasonable rates. Groceries and everyday items can be found at local markets and convenience stores at affordable prices, although imported goods can be more expensive. Overall, the cost of living in Koh Phangan is quite reasonable, making it an attractive destination for both short-term travelers and long-term expats," remarked one expat in Koh Phangan.

Additionally, healthcare and entertainment expenses are also typically more affordable in Thailand.
