We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Scarborough, they wrote:

"The cost of living in Scarborough is considered moderate. Housing tends to be the most significant expense, with rental prices varying depending on the size, location, and quality of the property. Utilities such as electricity, water, and internet are also a considerable part of the monthly budget. Food expenses in Scarborough are relatively affordable, especially if one chooses to buy local produce from markets. Eating out at restaurants can be more expensive, particularly at high-end establishments. Transportation costs are also a factor to consider. While public transportation is available and reasonably priced, many residents opt for private vehicles, which can lead to additional costs for fuel and maintenance. Healthcare in Scarborough is a mix of public and private providers. While public healthcare is free, it can sometimes involve long waiting times, leading many to opt for private healthcare, which can be costly. Education, if applicable, can also be a significant expense, especially for private or international schools. However, public education is free and is a viable option for many families. Lastly, discretionary expenses such as entertainment, clothing, and personal care also need to be factored into the cost of living. These costs can vary widely depending on personal lifestyle and preferences," explained one expat.
