Is the cost of living in Maracas Valley high?
We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Maracas Valley, they wrote:
"The cost of living in Maracas Valley is considered to be relatively high compared to other areas in the country. This is due to its status as a desirable residential area with a high standard of living. Housing is the most significant living cost, with prices for both renting and buying properties being above the national average. The cost of utilities such as electricity, water, and internet is also higher than in other parts of Trinidad & Tobago. Food and grocery prices can vary, but are generally on par with the national average. However, dining out at restaurants can be more expensive in Maracas Valley due to its popularity with tourists and locals alike. Transportation costs can also add up, especially if one is commuting to work in another part of the island. However, owning a car can be quite expensive due to the high cost of vehicles and petrol. Public transportation is available but may not be as convenient or reliable. Healthcare in Maracas Valley is of a high standard, but this is reflected in the cost. Both public and private healthcare services are available, but private healthcare is more expensive. Overall, while the cost of living in Maracas Valley is higher than in other parts of Trinidad & Tobago, many residents feel that the benefits of living in such a beautiful and well-serviced area outweigh the costs," said one person in Maracas Valley.
