"Living in Kabul can be expensive, although prices vary across the city depending on the neighbourhood. Although the cost of basic food products is relatively low, other consumer goods can often be more expensive than in many western countries. Costs of housing and utilities can also vary widely, with accommodation and electricity being generally more expensive in some of the wealthier and more secure parts of the city. Expats may find that the cost of living in Kabul is higher than in the rest of the country, and the cost of imported goods especially can be expensive," said one expat in Kabul.
