Is the cost of living in Sunshine Coast high?
We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Sunshine Coast, they wrote:
"The cost of living in Sunshine Coast is considered to be relatively high compared to other regions in the country. Housing is one of the biggest expenses, with the cost of renting or buying a property being quite high. Utilities such as electricity, gas, and water are also quite expensive. Groceries and food costs are also significant, with prices for fresh produce, meat, and dairy products being higher than in other parts of Australia. Eating out at restaurants or cafes can also be quite costly. Transportation costs can vary depending on the mode of transport used. Public transport fares are relatively affordable, but owning and maintaining a car can be expensive due to high petrol prices and maintenance costs. Healthcare is another major expense, with both public and private healthcare services being quite costly. Education costs can also be high, especially for private schools and universities. Despite these high costs, the Sunshine Coast offers a high quality of life with beautiful beaches, a warm climate, and a relaxed lifestyle, which many residents believe offsets the high cost of living," remarked one expat in Sunshine Coast.
