How do I find a place to live in Koh Phangan?
We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:
"To find a place to live in Koh Phangan, you can start by researching online on websites such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and Agoda to find accommodations that suit your preferences and budget. You can also join Facebook groups dedicated to Koh Phangan expats and housing, where people often post available rentals and recommendations. Once you arrive in Koh Phangan, visit local cafes, restaurants, and shops, as they often have bulletin boards with rental listings. You can also ask locals and expats for recommendations on where to find housing. It's a good idea to rent a scooter or bike to explore different areas of the island and look for "For Rent" signs, as some properties may not be listed online. Another option is to visit local real estate agencies, as they can help you find a suitable place to live based on your preferences and budget. Be prepared to negotiate rental prices, as it's common in Thailand. Lastly, consider staying in a guesthouse or hostel initially, as this will give you time to explore the island and find a more permanent place to live," explained one expat living in Koh Phangan, Thailand.
