How do I find a place to live in Ajman?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"Finding a place to live in Ajman, involves several steps. First, you need to determine your budget and the type of accommodation you're looking for. This could range from a studio apartment to a villa, depending on your needs and financial capacity. Next, you should research the different neighborhoods in Ajman to find one that suits your lifestyle and preferences. Some popular areas include Al Rashidiya, Al Nuaimiya, and Al Rawda. Consider factors such as proximity to work or school, availability of public transportation, safety, and nearby amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants, and parks. Once you have a clear idea of what you're looking for, you can start your search. There are several online property portals that list available properties for rent or sale in Ajman, such as Bayut, Property Finder, and Dubizzle. These websites allow you to filter your search based on location, property type, price range, and other criteria. You can also engage the services of a real estate agent to help you find a suitable place. They can provide valuable insights about the local property market and negotiate on your behalf. Make sure to choose a reputable agent who is registered with the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) in the UAE. Once you've found a potential place, arrange for a viewing. Check the condition of the property, ask about maintenance and utility costs, and try to get a feel for the neighborhood. If you decide to proceed, you'll need to negotiate the terms of the lease or purchase agreement. In the UAE, it's common to pay rent in advance for the entire year, although some landlords may accept payments in multiple installments. You'll also need to provide a security deposit, which is usually refundable at the end of your lease. Finally, once the agreement is signed, you'll need to register your tenancy contract with the Ajman Real Estate Regulatory Agency (ARRA). This is a mandatory step to ensure your rights as a tenant are protected. Remember, finding a place to live in Ajman, like anywhere else, can take time and patience. But with careful planning and research, you can find a home that suits your needs and budget," said one person in Ajman.
