"Healthcare services in Khao Lak, are relatively limited compared to larger cities in the country. The town has a few local clinics and pharmacies that can provide basic medical care and medications for minor ailments. For more advanced medical treatments and emergencies, patients may need to travel to the nearest city, Phuket, which is about a two-hour drive away. Phuket has several well-equipped hospitals and medical facilities with English-speaking staff. It is advisable for tourists visiting Khao Lak to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses and emergency evacuations, as well as to carry a basic first aid kit for minor injuries," wrote a member who made the move to Khao Lak, Thailand.
