What is it like to retire in Austria?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees what it is like retiring in Austria. They said...

"Retirees in Austria and its surroundings tend to lead an active lifestyle with plenty of opportunities for recreation, culture, and nightlife. There is an active expat community in the region, and many retirees take advantage of the beautiful scenery for biking, hunting, fishing, and hiking in the nearby mountains. There are also many cultural attractions such as museums, art galleries, and quaint towns to explore. As far as nightlife, there are numerous options such as traditional Austrian restaurants and bars that offer live music and special events. Plus, there is a wide range of recreational activities like skiing and snowboarding in the winter, as well as boating and golf in the summer. It is a great place for retirees to enjoy life," commented one expat who made the move to Austria.
