We asked expats in Thailand what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"Before retiring in Thailand, expats should research the cost of living in various cities and determine the best fit for their budget and lifestyle. Expats should also familiarize themselves with Thai culture and customs in order to ensure an adjust to the new lifestyle. Additionally, research the availability of health care facilities, obtainable treatments, and services to ensure access to quality care in Thailand. Furthermore, expats should obtain the correct visa for retiring in Thailand, typically a Non-Immigrant O-A visa, and investigate the total costs associated with obtaining it. Lastly, expats should research any taxes applicable to retirees in Thailand," remarked another expat in Thailand.

"At first I used Bank of America for checking, but then they shifted out of the retail banking business in Thailand, so I use local banks for everything, except credit cards, where I use banks in the USA," said a member in Bangkok, Thailand.
