Are foreigners allowed to own property in Croatia?
When we asked expats in Croatia if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...
"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Croatia. Non-EU citizens must obtain a permit from the Ministry of Justice in order to purchase property in Croatia. EU citizens are allowed to purchase property without a permit. However, they must register the property with the local land registry office. Additionally, foreigners are subject to the same taxes as Croatian citizens when purchasing property," remarked another expat who made the move to Croatia.
