72 hour exit after 90 days

As I continue to put ducks in a row. I am expecting that Costa Rica will be totally viable and glorious.. I will have started the pensionada process while in CR, but I will need an inexpensive exit site set up prior to my CR arrival in November. Any suggestions? A Tico Bus to Managua? A bus to Panama? ???
Also, when I go in November 2011 to Social Security to start my February 2012 initial retirement check application I imagine that I would have to have the check deposited to a US bank. Does sending it to the US embassy in CR make more sense? Is that doable and helpful for the Pensionada process?
