Possible move to CR

My husbands company offering relocation to their office in San Jose in 2 years. Would prefer not to live in the city, rather in a more peaceful location-maybe coastal? Or mountainous? We will have our then 8 yr old son w/us. Any advice?
I am a nurse-any jobs available?
All advice/experiences appreciated!!
