Costa Rica - Some questions

Hi all,

For quite some time now I have been mulling over the idea of re-locating from my country and one of the options (to my mind) is Costa Rica.
I am writing this so anyone can reply to me and help me get a feeler.

I have a family and would obviously like this move (i.e. if it ever materializes) to be as pleasant as possible and a step up in our lives.

My thoughts/questions here:

We don't speak Spanish.

How's the job market as regards IT? I understand that there may not be a lot of that.
What about child minding or a job in a school for my wife?

Alternatively, maybe I can find a nice property that we can live on and then rent out the extra rooms B and B style or something like that.
Can an expat live comfortably on that and how easy is it?
Not particularly choosy as to how I make a living.

What about good schooling for a 9 year old boy?
Also, there must be footy (soccer) practice in a club available for him or at any rate good sports opportunities.

Where would be the best areas for all of the above?

I know that the possibilities are vast but I am casting the net far and wide and hoping for some comments to give me some insights.

Thanks everybody.
