Questions, Questions, Questions!

We have questions.

1. How far in advance should we look for a place before we want to move in?

2. Is it usual or uncommon in Dominican Republic to find fully furnished places for rent? (Do we have to drag our furniture with us?)

3. We are applying for retirement visas before we leave the US, which require us to show we have a place to live ... how do we both wait to rent until we have looked around and also show we have a place to live before we arrive?

4. We have read that local norms and customs can be quite different from those in the US - can anyone offer specific examples?

5. Karaoke. Is it easy to find most places? How does it work in DR?

Thanks!!
Mark & Cindy
