Hi eddieg,
We were told by a solicitor in Sri Lanka that if we didn't exactly fit the requirements we could appeal at the immigration office and they would consider our case. We actually didn't bother as we were ok on our tourist visa at the time. Hope this helps

You have to renew your Dream Home Visa every two years. When you go to renew you must show proof you have brought 1500 US dollars into the country each month. I transfer about £1200 from my UK account to my Sri Lankan account. When I go to renew my visa the bank gives me a notarized statement showing my monthly transfer of £1200 in sterling to my rupee account in Sri Lanka. Hope this is helpful.

Very simply send back to the UK what you havent spent by buying the pound back and bring it back again via your bank account. so all you do is collect your pension for a couple of months and recycle it

If you can show some savings there should be no problem. I recommend you use a service like Immigration Lanka (Galle St, Colombo) they got me the visa in 10 days all included. You know you will have to deposit $15,000USD or equivalent in a CD while you are enjoying the visa.
