Hi All!

I used to live in CDMX more than a decade ago, but since then I've lived in Cuernavaca and now Puebla. I had to leave because I separated from my Mexicana wife 2 years after arriving in Mexico and I wanted to get as far away from her as possible.

I'm an expat, born in NYC and spent most of my life working in the city and Long Island. After decades of New York, I wanted something entirely different, so I moved to Kirkwood, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis).

While living in Kirkwood, MO, I met my wife at a retreat in Colorado and eventually she wanted to move back to Mexico City and so I followed her. Big mistake. She told me there was plenty of work in my field here. Turns out there was nothing. I was retired decades before I had planned to stop working.

I'm a professional pianist by trade, and my speciality is accompanying for Ballet and Contemporary Dance. When I arrived in CDMX about 13 years ago there were only two dance schools in all of CDMX that used live pianists. They both already had enough pianists.

I'm also a writer. Maybe you've heard of me or seen my books on Amazon. The royalties bring in a few bucks each month, but I'm still on the lower end of the economic spectrum. There's no ballet schools here in Puebla that use live pianists, and so even though I have a great C.V., I can't find work.

Still, I found a nice, two-bedroom, 3-bath, apartment on top of a hill in Puebla overlooking the city. I've been here now for about 7 years. If anyone has any questions about Puebla, I'd be happy to do my best to answer them.

I wish you all the best and look forward to getting to know some of you.

Your truly,
Laurence Galian
