Expats should also consider their budget and the type of amenities they are looking for in a home. Foreigners are allowed to purchase property in Paraguay, but there are certain restrictions. For example, foreigners are not allowed to purchase land within 50 kilometers of the border. Additionally, foreigners must obtain a special permit from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to purchase property.
