Summary: An expat looking to buy a home in Belarus should begin by researching the local real estate market. It is important to understand the local laws and regulations regarding foreign ownership of property in Belarus. Expats should also consider the type of amenities they are looking for in a home, such as access to public transportation, nearby schools, and other amenities. Foreigners are allowed to purchase property in Belarus, but there are certain restrictions. For example, foreigners are not allowed to purchase agricultural land or land located in certain areas. Additionally, foreigners must obtain a permit from the Belarusian government before they can purchase a property. Homes in Belarus typically include amenities such as central heating, air conditioning, and modern appliances. Many homes also have balconies, terraces, and gardens. Some homes may also include a garage or parking space.

How do I find a place to live in Belarus?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"One of the best ways to find a place to live in Belarus is to use online resources such as websites and classifieds. Websites such as Expat.by and Belarus.by offer listings of apartments and houses for rent in Belarus. Additionally, classifieds such as Craigslist and Gumtree can be used to find rental properties in Belarus. Additionally, it is possible to find rental properties through local real estate agents. It is also possible to find rental properties through word of mouth, by asking friends and family who may know of available properties," said one expat who made the move to Belarus.
