What do expats in Piriapolis appreciate most about the local culture?

"People in Uruguay in general are happier than in the USA. There's more honest joy and simple pleasures. There's a heart-level acceptance, in general, among people. There are no homeless camps. No beggars on the beaches. People live simply, but there's a sense that people matter and they're basic needs will be taken care of. I also learned to related differently to animals. Horses grazing by the road, dogs accompanying you to the beach, an occasional goat in a yard are all common," remarked one expat in Piriapolis.

"Expats in Piriapolis often appreciate the relaxed and laid-back lifestyle that is a significant part of the local culture. They enjoy the warm and welcoming nature of the locals, who are always ready to help and make them feel at home. The rich cultural heritage, reflected in the local music, dance, and festivals, is another aspect that expats find appealing. They also appreciate the local cuisine, which is a blend of traditional and modern flavors. The respect for nature and the environment, evident in the well-maintained beaches and parks, is another aspect of the local culture that expats in Piriapolis value. Lastly, the safety and tranquility of the city, along with the low cost of living, make the local culture very attractive to expats," explained one expat living in Piriapolis.
