How do I find a place to live in Leon?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"There are several housing options in Leon including apartments, vacation rentals, and homestays. Buildings in downtown Leon offer traditional apartment living surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and shops. Vacation rentals are popular among visitors and break away from traditional apartment living, offering amenities such as hot tubs, private pools, and outdoor space. Homestays offer a unique experience, allowing people to experience Mexican culture and hospitality while living with local hosts. Finding a place to rent in Leon has never been easier with websites such as Airbnb, HomeAway and VRBO offering a variety of options," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Leon.

"I worked with a realty company that I had found while at a conference. I went on the web to narrow down some choices and then spent a day looking at my short list. It quickly became apparent that I would not feel safe in all neighborhoods as a single female and so I chose the best and safest neighborhood in the city. This was a good decision as I can walk my dog at night with no fear," explained one person living in Leon, Nicaragua.
