It is recommended to route your pregnancy through a quality OBGYN and Midwife, who understand the customs, healthcare system and laws in Mal Pais. Additionally, it is important to ensure that the birthing facility is well equipped with the necessary medical equipment and emergencies can be attended to swiftly if needed. Additionally, investigate and register with the local health services and social security departments to provide added security and access to additional health services and benefits in the future. Finally, research the other services, such as support groups, experts and psychologists, that are available in the area for additional help and resources," remarked another expat in Mal Pais, Costa Rica.
