What cultural faux pas should I try to avoid making in Paradise Island?

Answer this Question

We asked people in Paradise Island if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. For new expats, keep in mind that these incidents are an inevitable part of expat life. Learning to laugh about them is the key!...

"Some key cultural faux pas to avoid on Paradise Island would be refraining from taking photos without permission, dressing inappropriately or disrespectfully according to local customs, not respecting public spaces, or using inappropriate language or gestures. It is also important to research and respect local taboos, accepting offers of food or drink without questioning it, engaging in activities that may offend the local culture, and touching religious artifacts without permission from the relevant authorities," wrote a member who made the move to Paradise Island, Bahamas.
