What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Cordoba. They wrote...

"Expats in Cordoba often find the language barrier to be the most challenging aspect of the local culture, as not everyone speaks English and the local dialect of Spanish can be difficult to understand. The slower pace of life can also be a challenge for those used to a more fast-paced, structured lifestyle. Additionally, the Spanish tradition of siesta, where businesses close in the afternoon for a few hours, can be frustrating for those not used to this practice. The late dining times can also be a challenge, as Spaniards typically eat dinner much later than what many expats are accustomed to. Lastly, navigating the local bureaucracy can be difficult, as it often involves a lot of paperwork and can be quite time-consuming," said another expat in Cordoba, Spain.
