"Expats in Montezuma often find the language barrier to be the most challenging aspect of the local culture. Costa Rica is a Spanish-speaking country, and many locals do not speak English. Additionally, expats may find it difficult to adjust to the slower pace of life in Montezuma, as the town is much more laid-back than many other places. Furthermore, expats may find it difficult to adjust to the local customs and traditions, as they may be quite different from what they are used to. Finally, expats may find it difficult to adjust to the local cuisine, as it is often quite different from what they are used to," remarked another expat in Montezuma, Costa Rica.
