"Barcelona is generally considered a safe city, however, like any large city, there is some crime. Pickpocketing is a common problem in Barcelona, particularly in crowded tourist areas. Other crimes such as burglary, car theft, and drug-related offenses are also reported. It is important to take precautions when visiting Barcelona, such as avoiding carrying large amounts of cash and being aware of your surroundings," commented one expat who made the move to Barcelona, Spain.
