Should I buy or rent a home in Kharkov?

Answer this Question

If you have not spent a lot of time in Kharkov, you should rent before even thinking about buying. We asked expats there about the buy vs. rent decision...

"Buying a home in Kharkov can be a great investment. The city is known for its low cost of living and its vibrant culture. The real estate market is also quite affordable, making it a great option for those looking to purchase a home. Renting a home in Kharkov can also be a great option, as it allows you to experience the city without the commitment of buying a home. Additionally, renting can be a great way to explore different neighborhoods and find the perfect place to call home. Ultimately, the decision to buy or rent a home in Kharkov will depend on your individual needs and preferences," commented one expat who made the move to Kharkov, Ukraine.

"We moved in with my Ukrainian mother-in-law, into her two-bed apartment. I invested time and money refurbishing the place. I agree to pay all the bills which, for the three of us, averages at 750 uah per month (£20.50). We are thinking about buying a house in one of the surrounding villages, which is a good option if you drive. You can pick up a 3 bed house relatively cheaply, and it's great to have your own "dacha" in the summer near a river of forest," remarked another expat in Kharkov, Ukraine.
