Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica

What should I pack when moving to Playa Hermosa?

Answer this Question

We asked people living in Playa Hermosa to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...

"When moving to Playa Hermosa, you should pack lightweight clothing due to the tropical climate. This includes shorts, t-shirts, and light dresses. A swimsuit is essential for enjoying the beautiful beaches, and a hat and sunglasses will protect you from the sun. Don't forget to pack a good quality sunscreen and insect repellent. You should also pack a rain jacket or umbrella, as Costa Rica experiences a rainy season. Comfortable walking shoes or sandals are necessary for exploring the local area. If you plan on hiking or exploring the rainforest, pack some long pants and sturdy hiking boots to protect against insects and rough terrain. Bring any prescription medications you need, as well as a basic first aid kit. It's also a good idea to pack a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. If you're planning on working or studying, don't forget your laptop, chargers, and any other necessary electronics. An adapter may be necessary as Costa Rica uses type A and B plugs. Lastly, pack copies of important documents like your passport, driver's license, and health insurance information. It's also a good idea to have a small amount of local currency for when you first arrive," remarked another expat in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.
