As a foreigner living in Cairo, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Cairo if they have access to public healthcare in Cairo. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Cairo, you will have access to public healthcare, but the quality of services might not be up to the standards you are used to. Public hospitals in Cairo are often overcrowded, understaffed, and lack modern equipment. Additionally, the language barrier can be an issue, as not all medical staff may speak English fluently. Many expats and foreigners choose to use private healthcare facilities, which offer better quality care and more advanced medical services. It is recommended to have comprehensive health insurance to cover the costs of private healthcare in Cairo," said another in Cairo, Egypt.
