When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Kuwait, they said...

"Expats considering retiring in Kuwait should be aware that the country is a Muslim-majority nation and that Islamic laws and customs are strictly enforced. It is important to familiarize oneself with the local culture and customs before relocating. Expats should also be aware that Kuwait is a very hot and humid country, and that the summer months can be particularly uncomfortable. Additionally, expats should be aware that Kuwait is a relatively expensive country to live in, and that the cost of living is higher than in many other countries. Finally, expats should be aware that Kuwait has a very strict visa system, and that obtaining a residency permit can be a lengthy and complicated process," said a member in Kuwait.

"Remember that this country is very hot from May through September, and in fact is insanely hot June, July, August. You have to stay hydrated and avoid outside during most daytime hours as far as shopping, etc. during those three months," remarked another expat who made the move to Kuwait.
