Noise at Lake Chapala

I'm preparing to come down to the area for my first visit and have heard a lot about high levels of "after hours" noise from amplified music and all kinds of party goers. Is there any truth to this? If so, is it a regular occurrence? And are there any areas where it's quiet and noise is not a factor.
