Can we beat this subject up a little more?

So, it appears I can only get a temporary residency VISA based on comments from MT. And the info on VISA's on the Mexico website confirms that. I could not get through to the Mexican consulate in Canada that serves our region. But I will try again tomorrow.

So, what I want to know is this; can I expect to be able to get permanent residency in Mexico in some way so we can live here permanently? Is there some round about, but acceptable method of getting permanent residency after I have expired my temporary residency after the 4 or 5 year limit and not being retired? I won't be retiring for several years, if ever.
