Moving to Mexico

I have previously lived in Manzanillo in state of Colima Mexico. I loved the beaches and the community there. I have decided to explore other states to retire in Mexico. I have done some research and like San Miguel De Allende. Can you recommend a better choice? Also, if you do live in San Miguel do you have any recommendations for long term stays?
