Uvita is a small town that is known for its rich biodiversity in terms of flora and fauna. However, in terms of human diversity, it is primarily populated by Costa Ricans, with a smaller number of expatriates from North America and Europe. The local community is generally known to be welcoming and accepting of differences. The Costa Rican culture, in general, values peace and harmony, and this is reflected in the attitudes of the people in Uvita.
